Sophomore Aniesa Maulupe of Carson put on a power display at UCLA’s Easton Stadium on Saturday afternoon, hitting two home runs to help the Colts defeat Chatsworth, 8-4, in the City Section Division I championship softball game.

It was Carson’s third title in the last four years.

Maulupe, a Long Beach State commit, hit both home runs over the right-field fence.

Chatsworth had a 3-1 lead when Carson scored four runs in the fifth inning. Maulupe’s three-run home run in the sixth broke open the game.

Jessica Robledo picked up the win in relief.

Jaylen Watson had a home run for Chatsworth, which knocked off top-seeded El Camino Real in 12 innings earlier in the week.
