NFL Monday night preview: Panthers at Eagles

Carolina (2-8) at Philadelphia (3-7)
Time: 5:30 PST | TV: ESPN
Story line: A six-game losing streak has all but sealed the firing of Eagles Coach Andy Reid, who said last week he won’t resign. Reid’s former assistant Ron Rivera is under similar fire because the Panthers have lost six close games, including last week when they blew a fourth-quarter lead against Tampa Bay. The Eagles get the benefit of playing at home but will be without QB Michael Vick and RB LeSean McCoy (concussions).
Panthers said: “You can’t worry about who is going to go and who is going to stay. That is for the front office to decide. But I’m going to fight with Coach until the end. No matter what he does, I’m going to ride with him.” — Charles Johnson, defensive end
Eagles said: “I know we’re letting the fans down and the city down. . . . I completely understand that. I feel it from the football team, our coaches and players. There are no excuses for it.” — Reid
Bottom line: Carolina has led in the fourth quarter of four of its losses. . . . Philadelphia rookie QB Nick Foles will need to improve upon last week’s 21-for-46, two-interception showing.
