DUCKS NEXT UP
VS. SAN JOSE
When: Friday, 7 p.m.
On the air: TV: Prime; Radio: 830.
Update: Frederik Andersen was noncommittal about his return from illness. Said the goalie, who has needed several days to get his legs and energy back: “I don’t want to put a date on it yet, but it’s getting close.” The Ducks are carrying three goalies, and when Andersen becomes available Coach Bruce Boudreau will have a tough decision to make after four solid starts by backup John Gibson. This a divisional game, and Andersen has not played since Nov. 21. “Obviously we’ll talk, and we’ll find the right spot for him to come in,” Boudreau said. “That’s all we can do.” Boudreau is more concerned that the Ducks, after Wednesday’s 2-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning, have scored one goal or fewer 12 times in 26 games. One, though, was a 1-0 victory against the Sharks on Nov. 7. The Sharks are 7-2-0 in their last nine games and 10-3-0 on the road. Patrick Marleau, reportedly the subject of trade speculation last month, has six goals and four assists in his last eight games.
