Dodgers acquire minor league catcher Shawn Zarraga

As the Dodgers waited to learn whether their deal to send to Matt Kemp to the Padres would be completed Thursday, they acquired minor league catcher Shawn Zarraga from the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Dodgers received infielder/outfielder Matt Long as the player to be named later in a Dec. 9 trade that sent catcher Drew Butera to the Angels.
The Dodgers promptly flipped Long, along with left-hander Jarret Martin, to the Brewers in exchange for Zarraga.
Zarraga, 25, is a career .283 hitter in the minor leagues. He has hit 13 home runs and driven in 167 runs over seven seasons.
Zarraga was the Brewers’ 44th-round pick in the 2007 draft.
