Clippers Coach Doc Rivers’ mother dies in Illinois

Clippers Coach Doc Rivers’ mother, Bettye Rivers, died in Illinois on Friday after battling several serious and lengthy illnesses, according to a Clippers spokesman. The team did not release her age.
Rivers’ son, Austin, who is a reserve guard on the Clippers, posted a photo on Instagram on Friday of himself, his father and his grandfather.
Wrote Austin: “We all loved you and will miss you. But you will always be in our hearts Bettye. May you RIP.”
Austin’s sister, Callie Rivers, also posted a message to her Instagram account.
Wrote Callie: “rip grandma. i know you will be an angel watching over us all. so thankful to have had you in my life. i love you and miss you already, forever in our hearts. bettye rivers”
The funeral service for Bettye Rivers will be held Thursday at the Second Baptist Church in Maywood, Ill., according to the Associated Press.
