H.B. police find 3 human skulls at Palmdale home
Huntington Beach police executing a search warrant found three adult-size human skulls at a home in Palmdale, authorities said Wednesday.
Officers made the grim discovery Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The search warrant was related to recent armed burglaries in Huntington Beach, according to Huntington Beach police Officer Jennifer Marlatt. No one was arrested at the house, Marlatt said.
Det. Kevin Acebedo told KABC-TV that the homeowner used the skulls for religious practices.
Los Angeles County coroner’s Asst. Chief Ed Winter confirmed that the skulls are from humans.
Coroner’s investigators will try to identify the remains. However, identification will be difficult, coroner’s Lt. David Smith said. Because investigators don’t know the identities, they can’t request dental records. Investigators will have to rely heavily on DNA evidence, he said.
