Youth Basketball: Newport Lightning 14U Black captures championship

The Newport Lightning Basketball Club 14U Black team captured the Judgement Day Championship at the Ladera Sports Center recently.
The NLBC beat Prodigy Elite, 41-32, in the title game.
The NLBC won the prestigious gold division in style beating Coastal Select and Spyder Surf on Saturday, and then Team DTermined Gold and Team Nikos Black on Sunday before the championship game.
The local 14U team dominated the competition, winning by an average margin of 19 points per game, and were led by the stellar play of Austin Clark, Adam Garza, Kenzo Andry and Matthew DeCrona.
Levi Darrow and Tyler Li hit several big shots and Asher Hamilton led the team with his defensive intensity and timely assists.
The NLBC 14U Black team is coached by Jeff Hamilton.
