Newport Harbor’s Kratzberg wins 100 hurdles, sets new PR at Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT — Newport Harbor High senior Emma Kratzberg won the seeded 100-meter hurdles in 14.53 seconds, a personal record Saturday at the 58th annual meet.
Kratzberg earned third place in the invitational heat of the 300 hurdles.
Cole Smith finished fifth in the boys’ shotput (57 feet 7 3/4 inches) for Newport Harbor. Teammate Michael Jarboe was 10th (54-1).
Newport Harbor’s Alexis Garcia, Mark Field, Erik Herrera and Ben Wilson finished ninth in the seeded heat of the 4x1,600 relay in 18:06.18.
The Sailors next compete at Marina in their fianl dual meet of the season on Thursday.
