Girls’ Basketball: CdM’s Bruening lands on second team

Corona del Mar High freshman forward Natalia Bruening has earned second-team All-Pacific Coast League honors for girls’ basketball.
Bruening was the lone all-league selection for CdM (10-18, 1-9 in league), which finished sixth in league. She was second on the team with 10.2 points per game, tied for the team lead with 10 rebounds per game and also led the team with nearly three blocked shots a contest.
Bruening helped CdM advance to the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division 3-AA playoffs, where the Sea Kings lost to Jurupa Valley.
Woodbridge senior Emma Shimizu and Beckman senior Alexis Casillas shared league MVP honors.
