NEWPORT BEACH — David Frost won the 19th Toshiba Classic, holding off Fred Couples Sunday at Newport Beach Country Club.
Frost shots scores of 63-66-65 to finish at 19–under-par 194, which tied the tournament record, and won the $262,500 winner’s check.
Frost, a 10-time PGA Tour winner, claimed his fourth victory on the Champions Tour, his second in his last six starts. He is the second wire-to-wire winner in tournament history, joining Nick Price (2011).
It’s Frost’s first Tour win in California.
