IRVINE — UC Irvine junior Zuri Walker scored in the 45th minute to erase a 1-0 deficit, but the visiting Aggies scored in the 84th minute to claim the nonconference victory Monday night.

Texas A&M; opened the scoring in the 40th minute when Bianca Brinson found the net.

Kelly Monogue had the game-winner for the visitors (1-0), who received two assists from Shea Groom.

CALDWELL, Idaho — Vanguard University split two matches Saturday, defeating William Jessup, 25-18, 25-19, 25-17, before falling to No. 8-ranked Lewis-Clark State, 25-21, 22-25, 12-25, 25-21, 17-15, to finish the tournament 2-2.

Sophomore Kelly Heenan, a Newport Harbor High product, had a team-high 17 digs in the win and a match-high 21 digs in the loss Saturday.

Jessica Neves had 19 kills for VU in the loss.
