Dodgers 4, Angels 2: Down by two runs in the sixth inning, the Dodgers beat the first-place Angels in seven innings in the second round of Majors tournament.
Things started to heat up in the sixth inning when Joey Durbin singled to left to start a Dodgers rally. After some walks and passed balls, the Dodgers tied the game at 2.
With one out in the top of the seventh, Hunter Jackson hit a towering home run on a 3-1 pitch, which was enough for the Dodgers to hang on.
Dodgers 13, Yankees 0: The Dodgers came out ready to play in the opening round of the tournament and posted a no-hit, 15-strikeout shutout of the Yankees.
Hunter Jackson pitched the first five innings for the Dodgers and didn’t allow a hit with 12 strikeouts. Braydon Salzman closed in the sixth and struck out three.
Cubs 3, White Sox 0: Under the direction of Manager Tod Minato, the Cubs shut out the White Sox in tournament play. Steven Gingery threw all six innings for the Cubs. Jerritt O’Brien hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning to account for the game’s three runs. Minor B Division Thunder 12, Hooks 11: Lead by Dominic Ventimiglia’s 2 1/3 innings of two-run pitching, the Thunder jumped out to a 12-4 lead and then held on for victory. Ventimiglia and Will Macy each had runs batted in and scored three runs and Zane Pratt had three hits and three RBIs.
