Ocean View’s Vaiciunas, Lane, Tran make first team

Ocean View High seniors Ieva Vaiciunas and Kari Lane, as well as sophomore Leyna Tran, have all earned first-team All-Golden West League honors for girls’ water polo.

Vaiciunas was the goalkeeper and Lane the leading scorer for the Seahawks (20-8), who won their third straight league title this season. They rallied to beat Segerstrom, 7-6, in the championship game of the league tournament.

Ocean View advanced to the CIF Southern Section Division 3 playoffs, where the Seahawks lost to top-seeded Villa Park, 13-5, in the first round.

Ocean View’s Madison Jacks, Tori Warren and Jasmine Silva all earned second-team all-league honors.

Jackie Lopez of Segerstrom, a junior, earned league MVP honors.
