Sage Hill girls’ basketball duo selected to Academy League first team

Sage Hill School received two first-team All-Academy League selections for girls’ basketball in Emily Elliott and Kenna Knollenberg.
The duo led Sage Hill (17-10, 9-3 in league) to a runner-up finish in the league during the 2017-18 season. Sage Hill notched a first-round win over Laguna Hills in the CIF Southern Section Division 4AA playoffs.
Elliott, a freshman power forward, averaged 12.2 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. She also contributed 2.7 blocked shots and 2.1 steals.
Knollenberg also fulfilled an energetic role for the Lightning at small forward, producing in several categories for her team. The senior averaged 7.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 2.8 steals and 2.1 assists per game.
Sage Hill senior shooting guard Kate Knollenberg and sophomore point guard Trinity Cha made the second team. Sophomore guard Joyce Jogwe earned honorable mention.
Academy League MVP honors went to Austyn Masuno, a junior center from league champion Oxford Academy.
