Pacifica Christian girls’ volleyball wins first CIF playoff match

The only team to receive an at-large entry into the CIF Southern Section Division 10 girls’ volleyball playoffs honored that postseason bid with a first-round victory.

Pacifica Christian Orange County defeated host Wildomar Cornerstone Christian 25-5, 25-16, 25-21 on Monday, delivering the first postseason victory for the Tritons in their playoff debut.

Emma Hammond had six kills and five service aces, and Maddy Alaluf produced five kills and five aces for the Tritons (12-10-1).

Allyson Sharrer added six kills and two aces, while Grace Cutrell spearheaded the defense with eight digs.

Pacifica Christian will host Northridge San Fernando Valley Academy in the second round at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskies (13-3) swept Inglewood Animo Leadership 25-15, 26-24, 25-22 in the first round.
