IRVINE Kari Pestolesi recorded a career-high 26 kills and added 24 digs to help lead the Anteaters to a 25-22, 19-25, 25-17, 20-25, 16-14 to open the UCI-Asics Challenge in the Bren Events Center Thursday night.

Kristin Winkler led the Anteaters with a career-high 32 digs.

Shaina Olsen and Larissa Nordyke had 11 kills each, while Marissa Alvarez amassed a career-high 53 assists and 11 digs for UCI (4-6).

The Anteaters continue the UCI-Asics Challenge Saturday against UCLA at 7 p.m.
