CORONA DEL MAR — Corona del Mar High swept the boys’ and girls’ track and field Battle of the Bay competitions against Newport Harbor Thursday at Corona del Mar’s track.

The Sea Kings dominated in girls, winning 105-22, while CdM edged the Sailors, 68-59, in boys.

The CdM girls won every event except the 100-meter hurdles.

The Sea Kings standout was Ashlee Powers, who finished first in the 800 (2 minutes, 23.4 seconds) and first in the 1600 (5:16.9).

CdM’s McKenzie Brown won the long jump (14 feet, seven inches) and triple jump (30-8).

Jessica Imani won the discus (123-5) and Karleh Wilson the shot put (34-7) for the Sea Kings.

Molly Keasey, a CdM freshman, won the 100 in 13 seconds.

CdM’s Britton Taylor took first in the high jump (4-8) and Emily Glenn was a winner in the 300 hurdles (53.1).

Newport Harbor’s Megan Bonds won the 100 hurdles in 18.9 seconds.

In boys’ action, CdM’s Blake Myers won the 800 (2:04.2) and 1600 (4:28).

Other Sea King winners included Derek Satterfield (3200, 10:03.8), Alex Turney (300 hurdles, 41.5), Troy Bolus (long jump, 19.9.5) and Ian Klug (high jump, 6-0).

Titus Hasson finished first in the 100 (10.9) and 200 (22.8) for Newport Harbor. The Sailors’ 4x100 relay team placed first in 44.9.

The Sailors had the top three shot put and discus throwers.

Trever Lawrence won the shot put (58-2) and Ethan Cochran took first in the discus (178-2).
