High School Roundup: Edison girls’ basketball edges Woodbridge in overtime

Madison Copeland had 20 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Edison High girls’ basketball team past Woodbridge 55-51 in overtime on Monday night in a nonleague game at home.
Taylor Fullbright added 12 points, and Gwen Ontiveros had nine points for the Chargers (7-5).
Edison travels to take on Tesoro on Thursday at 7 p.m.
West Covina South Hills 60, Newport Christian 34: The Seahawks fell to 3-6 with Monday’s nonleague result at home.
BOYS’ SOCCER
Corona del Mar 3, El Toro 0: Aidan Holmes had two goals and an assist to lead the visiting Sea Kings in Monday’s nonleague match.
Chase Marion also scored a goal for CdM (4-1).
Fountain Valley 5, Segerstrom 2: Sebastian Rus scored two goals to lead the host Barons in Monday’s nonleague match.
Fountain Valley improved to 2-2.
Marina 1, Cypress 0: The Vikings kept a clean sheet on the road for their first win in nonleague play on Monday.
Marina is 1-2-2.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Buena Park 88, Newport Christian 37: The Seahawks dropped to 2-5 after Monday’s nonleague road game.
