College Roundup: Vanguard women’s basketball routs Life Pacific

Senior guard Vanessa Murphy finished with 19 points, eight rebounds and one blocked shot, and the Vanguard University women’s basketball team blew out Life Pacific 93-50 in Thursday’s Golden State Athletic Conference home game.
Tristen Rollon had 16 points and three steals for the Lions (5-1, 2-0 in conference), who made 13 of 23 three-pointers. Michaella Elad added 14 points and seven rebounds, while Sierra Vaglica had 12 points on four three-pointers.
Southwestern 68, Golden West 59: Kimberly Mancillas had 17 points, six rebounds and five steals for the Rustlers (0-3) at the Chaffey Crossover in Rancho Cucamonga on Thursday.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Vanguard 90, Pacific Life 59: Jon Scherer had 17 points and four three-pointers for the host Lions in Thursday’s Golden State Athletic Conference game.
James Moore chipped in with 13 points and eight rebounds for Vanguard (7-4, 2-0 in conference).
Golden West 67, Santa Barbara 63: The Rustlers (2-7) won their opening game in the Santa Barbara City College Classic on Thursday, giving them two straight victories.
Orange Coast 86, Los Angeles Southwest 84 (OT): Jonathan Ileleji had 32 points, six three-pointers, seven rebounds, four steals and three assists, helping the visiting Pirates (2-7) in Thursday’s nonconference game.
