Arrests, citings made at DUI checkpoint

Huntington Beach police arrested one DUI or drug-impaired suspect, and two drivers were cited or arrested for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended license during a DUI and drivers license checkpoint conducted between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. Dec. 29.
One person was arrested on other criminal charges.
Police screened 1,440 vehicles during the checkpoint.
The department will conduct another checkpoint on Jan. 12.
The checkpoints are funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
