Officer, suspect hurt in chase

A Costa Mesa police officer and a suspect suffered minor injuries during a foot chase Monday afternoon, according to police.
Police responded to a call of sexual battery about 1 p.m. in the 3100 block of Harbor Boulevard and chased a suspect, according to Costa Mesa Police Lt. Bob Ciszek.
An officer reportedly suffered an injured neck, and the suspect suffered scrapes and bruises related to being tackled, Ciszek said.
No additional information was immediately available.
