A three-vehicle crash in Costa Mesa sent one person to the hospital and delayed traffic Wednesday morning, according to police.
Two vehicles collided in an intersection near the San Diego (405) Freeway and Harbor Boulevard. One of the cars hit a Toyota Rav4 that was stopped at a red light about 9:05 a.m., according to Sgt. Zach Hoferitza of the Costa Mesa Police Department.
The Toyota overturned, and the Jaws of Life were used to extricate the driver from it, Officer Chris Brunt said.
The driver was taken to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana with a head injury, Brunt said.
Traffic in the area was delayed about 45 minutes, according to police.
