Police: Man with knife robbed gas station
COSTA MESA — A Mobile station on Fairview Avenue was robbed at knifepoint by an unidentified male suspect late Thursday night, Costa Mesa police reported Friday.
At 11:55 p.m. a white man described as in his mid-20s, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and wearing all black came into the gas station in the 3400 block and approached the clerk to buy a small item, said police Lt. Bob Ciszek. The suspect pulled out what was described as a large kitchen knife and demanded money, Ciszek said.
The suspect fled on foot. The police would not say how much money was taken.
The only other identifying characteristic visible underneath the suspect’s jacket and hat were his rubber or plastic earrings, known as plugs, visible in each ear lobe
