Police are investigating a 15-year-old’s report that a driver deliberately hit him Wednesday, Lt. Jason Kravetz said.
The skateboarder said he and a 13-year-old companion, both from Laguna Beach, were on Temple Hills Drive between Brooks and Oak streets when they saw a vehicle approaching them. The 15-year-old said they motioned for driver to pass them.
Instead, the driver sped up and aimed at him, the teenager said, knocking him to the ground.
Kravetz said the skateboarder told police that the driver then jumped out of his vehicle and accused the boys of flipping him off and then called them a menace to society.
The boys denied flipping off the driver, Kravetz said.
Kravetz said the police have enough information to proceed with an investigation. The vehicle was described as an older model Mercedes Benz with Nevada plates.
Anyone with information about the incident, which was reported at 3:05 p.m., can contact Kravetz at [email protected] or (949) 497-0307.
