NEWPORT BEACH — Junior midfielder Daniel Apple led the Sailors with three goals in the nonleague game Friday.

Newport Harbor (5-4) rallied from a 7-1 halftime deficit and led, 9-8, with 2:29 remaining. But the Wolfpack tied the game with one second left and won after scoring 1:53 into sudden-death overtime.

Sophomores Riley Robinson and Jake Turner added two goals each for the Sailors.

NEWPORT COAST — Darren Hardy went four for five with three runs batted in and three runs scored for the Lightning in the Academy League game Thursday.

Jack Heffron went two for four with a home run, a run scored and four RBIs. Dusty Orrantia (three RBIs), Alex Jimenez (two runs) and Brandon Zelnter (two runs) also had two his each for Sage Hill (7-4, 3-1 in league).

Jimenez, the starting pitcher, also struck out five and allowed two hits and a walk in 5 2/3 shutout innings.

NEWPORT BEACH — Junior Amanda Olevsky had six goals for the Sailors in the Sunset League game Wednesday.

Junior Sierra Michaelsen added three goals and three assists.

Junior Chelsie Delameter contributed two goals and senior goalie Paige More recorded nine saves for Newport Harbor (8-5, 3-0 in league).
