OCC’s Holley moves on
Orange Coast College tailback Ray Holley, who set a school single-season record with 1,457 rushing yards last fall, has accepted a full scholarship to play for Louisiana Tech, OCC football coach Mike Taylor said Friday.
Holley, a 5-foot-9, 190-pounder, scored 18 of OCC’s 20 rushing touchdowns and produced 97.2% of the team’s rushings yards on his way to first-team All-National Division honors. Holley finished No. 3 in the state in rushing yards per game (145.7). The El Modena High product was a second-team all-division honoree as a freshman.
