Girls Inc. taking votes for campaign

Girls Inc. of Orange County, a Costa Mesa nonprofit that reaches out to local girls to help them make good choices in life, is encouraging people across the county to participate in Dove’s “Thank You for Making a Differenceâ€� campaign, happening through Dec. 15.

Supporters are asked to cast their vote for Girls Inc. by going to www.girlsinc-oc.org and clicking on the Dove campaign link.

The soap maker will donate $1 to fund the organization’s newest program, the Mind + Body Initiative.

“It has never been more essential to provide young girls with the tools they need to develop and sustain a positive self image,� Lucy Santana, executive director of Girls Inc. of Orange County, said in a news release.

“We are thrilled to have been selected by Dove as partners in (this campaign), especially because it enables our supporters to make a significant impact with a simple act � one vote.�
