District to interview prospects for president
The Fountain Valley School District has received 10 applications from community members to replace former President Patricia Harney, who died in September, on the board of trustees.
Rina Hansen, superintendent’s assistant, said the board will have a special meeting 5 p.m. Monday to interview the candidates. The meeting is open to the public. The board will announce the new member at its regular meeting Nov. 12.
Harney was first elected to the board in 2002. Her current term would have ended in November 2010, and the trustee who replaces her will serve until that time, Hansen said.
The meetings will be in the district’s board room at 10055 Slater Ave.
