Mt. SAC Invitational
WALNUT — Newport Harbor finished fourth in the Blue Varsity Division II race that featured 18 teams Saturday at Mt. San Antonio College.
Freshman Maggie Goodson led the way for the Sailors finishing ninth in 19 minutes, 6 seconds. Junior Tori Sarris (13th, 19:29), senior Patty Moddelmog (33rd, 20:02), junior Jordan Murrell (56th, 20:37), senior Emily Wilson (68th, 20:59), sophomore Lauren Clemence (85th, 21:34) and senior Ava Nelson (96th, 22:10) also competed in the race that had 126 runners.
Newport Harbor will compete in the Sunset League Finals at Central Park in Huntington Beach on Saturday.

WALNUT — The Sage Hill School boys’ team finished eighth in the boys’ Division V Sweepstakes race Friday.
Slater Stanley was the Lightning’s top finisher, coming in at 23rd in 17:13. Dylan Thies (24th, 17:19), David Penner (36th, 17:50), Alemar Brito (45th, 18:04) and Jack Percival (51st, 18:15) also competed for the Lightning.
On the girls’ side, Sage Hill finished 10th in the Divison V Sweepstakes race. Sophia Witte led the Lightning, coming in 19th in 20:55. Caroline Grant (43rd, 22:19), Campbell Moore (68th, 23:49), Rannah Dabiri (70th, 24:03) and Naomi Granados (75th, 24:34) also competed for Sage.
Both teams compete next at the Academy League Championships Nov. 3 at Irvine Regional Park. The girls’ team is tied for first and the boys are tied for second.

WALNUT — The Estancia High boys’ team finished third in Division III Friday.
Jorge Martin led the Eagles finishing fourth in 16:52. Peter Hernandez (seventh, 17:06), Juan Jeronimo (17th, 17:20), Michael Davila (32nd, 17:52), Jorge Carrizal (67th, 18:53), Victor Silva (77th, 19:08) and Alan Soto (87th, 19:33) also competed for Estancia.
