Ocean View to get Olympic-sized pool
Ocean View High School is finally getting a pool — Olympic-sized.
The high school has been waiting 30 years for this and is celebrating with a groundbreaking ceremony Saturday.
State and local officials, Huntington Beach Union High School District Supt. Van Riley, board President Bonnie Castrey and Principal Dan Bryan will be at the ceremony. Students will also be on hand with shovels.
The pool will be 50 meters, giving Ocean View the only Olympic-sized pool in the district.
The groundbreaking is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ocean View High School on Gothard Street.
