Woman alleges verbal attack, then changes story
A woman at an undisclosed location told police that a man with white supremacist tattoos and carrying a closed pocket knife threatened her to fight after she accidentally put sand in his drink near the pier at 5:44 p.m. Saturday. When speaking with police officers, the woman changed her story, saying the man never actually tried to attack her, and made officers give their notes to her before leaving.
Location Undisclosed: A man was heard screaming and cursing at his 86-year-old mother, who has dementia, at 10:44 a.m. Saturday. The caller said the man lived with the woman. When police arrived, they found the man packing his belongings in order to leave the home.
Location Undisclosed: A woman called at 4:11 p.m. Saturday to say that her daughter called her, crying and screaming, to say that her boyfriend was hitting her. The woman said that every time she sees her daughter, she has bruises on her arm.
Heil Avenue at Graham Place: A caller said several suspects got out of a taxi and began beating up their friends at 2:37 a.m. Saturday.
Pacific Coast Highway: Several vehicle windows were reportedly smashed, with items stolen, in the 16900 and 17000 blocks beginning at 3:54 a.m. Saturday.
Saybrook Lane: A woman made multiple calls to police from the 16900 block, beginning at 4:51 a.m. Saturday, saying there was scotch tape on the back of her chairs, and that various hair products were missing. She said she did not want officers to take a report, as “her dogs will eat them.”
Warner Avenue: Two beach cruisers were reported stolen from a carport in the 6400 block overnight at 10:18 a.m. Saturday.
Research Drive: Two young men were seen walking around looking into businesses in the 5600 block at 11:29 a.m. Saturday.
Apollo Lane: A caller said a power line exploded in the 15000 block at 1:19 p.m. Saturday.
Warner Avenue: A beach cruiser was reported stolen from a bike rack in front of a grocery store in the 7100 block at 1:38 p.m. Saturday.
Sher Lane: A caller said their daughter needed police assistance to pick up her personal effects from an apartment she was kicked out of in the 16100 block at 4:57 p.m. Saturday.
Edinger Avenue: A man tried to pass a counterfeit $100 bill in a store in the 7400 block at 5:12 p.m. Saturday.
Main Street: Two people who had set up a political booth on the street allegedly were calling passersby “Nazis” in the 18600 block at 11:36 a.m. Saturday.
Valley Circle: A caller said a trash digger was being belligerent, making a mess and refusing to leave in the 18900 block at 12:45 p.m. Saturday.
Nichols Street: A woman said their neighbor complained that her 6-year-old daughter blew bubbles in his face in the 16800 block at 6:36 p.m. Saturday.
Geneva Avenue: A resident said they caught a group of juveniles trying to toilet-paper their home in the 800 block at 12:44 a.m. Saturday.
Oceanaire Circle: A resident complained that their drunken neighbors were loudly playing Scattergories in the 19700 block at 1:20 a.m. Saturday.
Yorktown Avenue at Beach Boulevard: Two men attempted to fight with a caller, who believed they wanted his beer, at 1:52 a.m. Saturday.
Presidio Drive: A caller said they found a nail in their vehicle’s tire, adding that they suspected a neighborhood kid, as there were other related situations in recent weeks, in the 6700 block at 7:31 a.m. Saturday.
Harbor Glen Drive: A caller said their wife’s bike was stolen from under the stairs outside their home in the 7200 block at 9:06 a.m. Saturday.
Frankfort Avenue: A barefoot man wearing pajama bottoms was seen peering into homes in the 800 block at 10:45 a.m. Saturday.
2nd Street at Walnut Avenue: A caller said a man was threatening them over a parking space, saying “I’ll come back and find you,” at 1:39 p.m. Saturday. The beach areas were heavily congested over the U.S. Open of Surfing weekend.
Delaware Street: A caller said that someone drew Nazi symbols on a photograph of a deceased tenant inside an apartment in the 2200 block at 6:42 p.m. Saturday.
Sealpoint Lane: Drunken residents were seen throwing patio furniture in a pool in the 20200 block at 1:48 a.m. Saturday. The residents ran away, one saying, “Bring your cops with whatever they got — I’m ready for them.”
Adams Avenue: A caller said their truck had been broken into while they were on vacation, with all of their power tools stolen, in the 8700 block at 7:46 a.m. Saturday.
Pacific Coast Highway at Magnolia Street: A caller said they locked their 15-month-old son in the car near the state beach at 3:41 p.m. Saturday.
Beach Boulevard: A caller said a man took a basket of items out of a store, including vodka, razors and paper towels, without paying for them in the 19600 block at 3:45 p.m. Saturday.
Beach Boulevard at Utica Avenue: A bus driver said men in the back of his bus were fighting at 4:05 p.m. Saturday.
Yorktown Avenue: About 10 juveniles were seen smoking at a school in the 9800 block at 6:10 p.m. Saturday.
Santa Carlotta Street: A stolen vehicle was reported in the 18400 block at 9:44 p.m. Monday.
La Arena Circle: A case of automotive tampering was reported in the 9800 block at 5:47 p.m. Monday.
Bandilier Circle: A forgery was reported from a hobby store in the 18400 block at 11:46 a.m. Monday.
Mount Mitchell Circle: Suspicious circumstances were reported in the 15900 block at 9:35 p.m. Monday.
Los Alamos Park: Juveniles were seen disturbing the peace at 10:29 p.m. Monday.
Los Alamos Street: Suspicious circumstances were reported in a library in the 17600 block at 2:24 p.m. Monday.
