Sheriff IDs body in harbor
Investigators are still working to determine what killed a Huntington Beach woman whose body was found in Huntington Harbour last week.
Orange County sheriff’s deputies found the body of Anna Krivenkoff, 45, about 2 a.m. after they responded to word of a large pool of blood outside Turc’s, a Sunset Beach bar, Huntington Beach police Lt. Craig Bryant said.
Investigators conducted a patrol check that led them across Pacific Coast Highway and through a locked gate to a private dock near the Peter’s Landing shopping center. Deputies found Krivenkoff’s body in the water beside a boat that appears to have belonged to her.
It appeared the woman had suffered a forehead injury, but the cause of death is still unclear, Bryant said.
About 4:05 a.m., the deputies contacted the Huntington Beach Police Department, which responded and took over the investigation, authorities said.
“Huntington Beach Police Department detectives are continuing this investigation, but at this time it appears to be an accidental death,†police said in a news release.
The county coroner’s office is conducting toxicology and other tests.
Krivenkoff formerly lived in La Habra Heights, public records indicate.
