Police make example of recent burglaries
Police are pointing to four vehicle burglaries overnight in Newport Beach as a reminder to keep valuable items out of plain view inside your car.
Four cars were reported burglarized between the 9100 and 9300 block of Residencia in the Newport Bluffs gated community off MacArthur Boulevard on Wednesday morning, police said.
A total on how much was lost was not immediately available, but among the items stolen through the quick, window smash-and-grab burglaries were an iPod, portable DVD player, sunglasses and a computer, said Sgt. Evan Sailor.
Authorities would like to remind the public to take valuables inside their homes with them when they leave their car, or to at least keep them out of plain view from potential burglars.
