Local quartet lead those who earn All-CIF honors

Newport Harbor High senior midfielder William Muñoz, Estancia senior forwards Jorge Olivas and Jesus Garcia, and Corona del Mar junior forward Reed Williams earned first-team All-CIF Southern Section recognition in their respective divisions for boys’ soccer.
Muñoz, a Division I selection, led the Sailors to the quarterfinals of the Division I playoffs. He finished with 10 goals and five assists as Newport Harbor went 13-7-4, 5-3-2 in the Sunset League, good for third place. He also earned first-team All-Sunset League status.
Olivas and Garcia made the Division IV team after Estancia (15-2-7, 5-0-3 in league) reached the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Division IV playoffs.
Olivas finished with 11 goals and three assists and Garcia had seven goals and 12 assists, helping the Eagles win their third straight Orange Coast League championship.
Williams, also a Division IV pick, had 10 goals and four assists for CdM, which advanced to the quarterfinals of the Division IV playoffs. The Sea Kings (8-8-4, 4-2-2 in league) placed second in the Pacific Coast League.
Newport Harbor junior midfielder Dillan Freiberg earned second-team Division I honors along with senior forward Evan Walker. Senior midfielder Scotty Figueroa made the third team.
Walker, had 13 goals and two assists, also shared the Sunset League Offensive MVP honor.
In Division IV, Estancia senior goalkeeper Jose Castrejon was a second-team pick as were two CdM players, sophomore defender Brian Ford and senior defender Miles Kellerman.
Estancia senior midfielder Danny Martinez was a third-team Division IV selection.
