When was the last time you got to stop and enjoy the world around you? Not the latest gadgets or newest hand-held device, but return to the roots of Southern California. In the demanding pace of today, odds are it ain’t great.

With that in mind, the Newport Beach City Arts Commission is inviting you to take some time out for yourself these next few weeks and stop by the Central Library, 1000 Avocado Ave.

Local artist Lili Dierenfield is showcasing her latest exhibition, “Impressions of a California Landscape.â€

Dierenfield has painted for more than 30 years and uses impressionistic landscapes and warm tones to help her audience reminisce about days gone by.

The local artist also will showcase oil on canvas portraits, including many of Native American women. The exhibit will be on display in the library’s lobby through the end of April.
