CORONA DEL MAR — The Sea Kings clinched at least a share of their first Pacific Coast League title since 2001 in the league game Monday at Corona del Mar High.
CdM (10-3-7, 5-1-1 in league), the designated visitors in a game that was originally scheduled to be played at Beckman, had goals from Hayley Raguse in the seventh minute and Tessa Andujar (65th minute).
The Sea Kings are tied for first with University, which has completed its regular season. CdM can gain the title outright with a win or tie Wednesday at Laguna Hills. CdM handled the Hawks, 3-0, in the teams’ first meeting.
Sarah Cox (three first-half saves) and Lindsey Luke (four saves) combined to preserve the shutout, the 13th of the season for Coach Bryan Middleton’s squad.
Ashleigh Smith had an assist for CdM, ranked No. 10 in CIF Southern Section Division II.
Beckman fell to 3-4-1 in league.

COSTA MESA — The Sailors upset Sunset League-leading Esperanza on a goal by senior Evan Walker in the 20th minute.
The win allowed Newport Harbor (10-6-4, 4-3-2 in league) to clinch at least an at-large berth in the CIF Southern Section Division I playoffs. At-large bids will automatically go to teams which finish at least fourth and have at least a .500 record, Sailors Coach Mike Ditta said.
Senior Scotty Figueroa had an assist and junior Kyle Evans made two saves to record his sixth shutout of the season, the fifth in league play.
Ditta also praised the play of junior Dillan Freiberg.
Esperanza is 6-2-1 in league.
The Tars finish the regular season Wednesday at Edison.
