Art exhibit now taking entries for March contest

The 2009 Orange County Artist Juried Exhibition, Reception and Sale is coming up at the Newport Beach Central Library.

Local artists can compete for prizes from $100 to $500 by submitting paintings, sketches, photographs, small sculptures and other types of projects that fit the show’s criteria. There is a charge of $20 per artist for the submission of up to three pieces.

Artists living or working in Orange County and older than 18 can bring their work to the Central Library Friends Meeting Room on March 29, the day of the exhibition, for judging.

City dignitaries will be on hand to award prizes.

Interested artists can get entry forms at the library (1000 Avocado Ave.) or City Hall (3300 Newport Blvd.). For more information, call (949) 644-3211.
