CORONA DEL MAR — Corona del Mar scored wins over Esperanza, 16-2, and Agoura, 18-0, to open the tournament at its pool Thursday.

Pippa Saunders scored four goals in the win over Esperanza, while Leslee Kaczmarek notched six goals in the Sea Kings’ win over Agoura.

CdM (21-1) will play host to Coronado of San Diego tonight at 6.

LAKE FOREST — The Sailors posted a combined 17-2 first-half advantage in a 9-5 win over Carlsbad and a 19-5 trouncing of Santa Monica Thursday at El Toro High.

Kayleigh Gilchrist had six goals and four steals against Carlsbad, while Nicolina McCall had three goals and three assists as 11 Sailors scored against Santa Monica.

Newport (17-5) plays Laguna Beach tonight at 6 at El Toro.
