Autopsies in Stanton killings not released

Autopsies of the Costa Mesa man and Fountain Valley woman who were killed this week in their office in Stanton have been done, but authorities are not revealing anything about the cause of death because they fear it might jeopardize the investigation.
There are certain aspects of the crime known only to the killer and publicly revealing those details might help their attacker in an interrogation when caught, said sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino.
Elizabeth Palmer, 49, of Fountain Valley, and Matthew Francis Scott, 42, of Costa Mesa, were found dead Monday morning at Golden Sun Homes, 12331 Beach Blvd., a mobile home dealership in Stanton.
Scott worked in sales, while Palmer had been a secretary there for 15 years.
The only thing missing was the key to Palmer’s car, which authorities said was stolen.
While authorities said they hadn’t ruled out any motives, a sheriff’s spokesman did say it didn’t look like a robbery, as the business doesn’t carry much cash on hand.
Authorities are still looking for Palmer’s 2004 white Lexus, license plate 5FYP194.
Police are asking anyone who has seen the car or has information about the crime to call (866) TIP-OCSD.
Offices have been closed since the killings, and the business was deserted Tuesday afternoon.
