Foundation awards grants to multiple local nonprofits

The Newport Beach-based Pacific Life Foundation has announced more than $3.4 million in grants to more than 200 nonprofit agencies through Southern California.

The foundation will give $20,000 to South Coast Repertory for its Theater for Young Audiences program, which produces plays for children and families. Friends of Oasis also will get a $50,000 grant toward a $100,000 pledge from Pacific Life to help build a new senior center in Corona del Mar. Boys & Girls Club of the Harbor Hare will receive $25,000 to support renovations on its Eastbluff facility in Newport Beach.

The Pacific Life Foundation also will give the Hoag Hospital Foundation a second payment of $100,000 toward a $250,000 grant to help expand the Hoag Cancer Center. Pacific Life also gave Hoag an additional $10,000 to underwrite cardiovascular exams for low-income, diabetic women.
