COSTA MESA — Senior Lauren Gregory led five Lions scorers in double figures with 18 points in the Golden State Athletic Conference home game Saturday.
Rachel Copeland (15), Diana Neves and Jaclyn Blied (13 apiece), as well as Bridgette Reyes (10) helped the hosts improve to 10-2, 3-0 in conference.
The Master’s is 7-5, 2-1.

FULLERTON — Junior guard Rebecca Maessen had 17 points to pace the Anteaters in the Big West Conference opener on the road Saturday.
Maessen added five rebounds, three assists and three steals for UCI (3-11).
Fullerton (4-7) seized a 39-23 halftime lead and expanded it from there.

COSTA MESA — Junior Dennis Heenan, a Newport Harbor High product, had 20 points to lead the Lions in the Golden State Athletic Conference home game Saturday.
Vanguard fell to 2-9, 1-2 in conference.

IRVINE — UC Irvine senior Randall Tom won four events to help the Anteaters finish second to Wyoming in the team standings of the sprint portion of the meet Saturday.
Tom bested the field in the 100-yard backstroke (50.09 seconds), the 50 breaststroke (25.94), the 100 butterfly (48.10) and the 50 fly (21.77).
Senior Nate Rogers (100 free in 47.19), junior Chris Rosales (200 breaststroke in two minutes, 8.23 seconds) and the tandem of senior Will Wollam and sophomore Garrett Thompson who tied for the top time in the 50 free (21.32) also sparkled for the hosts.
UCI was also second as a team in the distance portion of the event that was won by Wyoming.
The UCI women finished second in the distance event and fourth in the sprint event team standings.
UCI’s top women’s performers were junior Jessica Schlitz and Laura Stouffer.
Schlitz was second in the 200 fly and third in the 100 fly. Stouffer was second in the 100 back and third in the 100 back.
UCI’s Stephanie Gabert, a Corona del Mar High product, was second in the 1,650 free.
