Man enters house with screwdriver, police say
Police are looking for a man who tried to pry his way into a Costa Mesa home Monday night, officials said.
According to police, a Costa Mesa man was relaxing at home when someone knocked on his door repeatedly for up to five minutes with no answer. The homeowner told police he didn’t answer because he didn’t recognize the visitor, said Sgt. Bryan Glass.
Assuming no one was home, the man pulled out a screwdriver and pried open the front door to get inside.
He was greeted by the homeowner and ran off, Glass said. Police did not provide a detailed description of the man.
