Five Breakers teams remain in CIF rankings
In this week’s CIF Southern Section rankings, Laguna Beach teams in girls’ volleyball and boys’ cross-country each moved up a spot in their respective polls.
Laguna moved from fifth to fourth in the girls’ volleyball Division I-A poll, taking the place of El Toro, which dropped from fourth to eighth. In the boys’ cross-country Division IV poll, Laguna and Morro Bay swapped spots, as the Breakers moved from third to second.
Three other Laguna teams “†boys’ water polo, girls’ cross-country and girls’ tennis “†all held down their rankings from the previous week.
The boys’ water polo team remained in the No. 4 slot in Division III, behind Montebello, Damien and Murrieta Valley.
The girls’ cross-country team is hanging on at No. 9 in Division IV, and the girls’ tennis team comes in at No. 7 in Division I.
