Edison remains at No. 6 in polls after blowout win
The Edison High football team retained its No. 6 position in the latest CIF Southern Section Pac-5 Division poll that was released Tuesday by the Southern Section office in Los Alamitos.
The Chargers stayed at No. 6 following a 55-14 victory over Marina, but the rest of the poll had a major shake-up as last week’s second-, third- and fourth-ranked teams  Orange Lutheran, Los Alamitos and Crespi  all lost. Orange Lutheran went from second to fourth, Los Alamitos, which lost in overtime to Fountain Valley, slipped from third to fifth while Crespi took the biggest tumble, falling from fourth into a tie for the No. 10 spot with Servite, which rejoined the poll after the Friars beat Orange Lutheran.
Notre Dame of Sherman Oaks leaped from fifth to second in the new poll and Tesoro vaulted from eighth to third. Both teams are undefeated. Long Beach Poly remained No. 1 in the poll.
The only other local team ranked in CIF was Ocean View’s girls’ tennis team, which retained its No. 2 ranking in Division V.
