Sage Hill seeks to capture first outright league title
Sage Hill School can wrap up its first outright Academy League championship in girls’ volleyball with a victory at 5 tonight at rival St. Margaret’s.
The Lightning (17-10, 9-0 in league), ranked No. 6 in the CIF Southern Section Division IV-AA poll, clinched at least a share of the title before the regular-season finale against the No. 7 Tartans (8-1 in league).
Sage Hill recorded a three-game sweep of Capistrano Valley Christian Tuesday.
The last time the Lightning shared league was in 2005, the same year they split the crown with St. Margaret’s and went on to win the CIF Southern Section Division IV-A title.
Two weeks ago, Sage Hill pulled off a 25-21, 19-25, 21-25, 25-14, 15-12 victory over St. Margaret’s at home.
