OC Union members, Foley and Cook Hold GOTV efforts to mobilize Democratic Base in Costa Mesa, San Clemente this Weekend
Orange County, Calif. - In light of the most anticipated elections in history, Orange County union members and Progressive Democrats got a head start in GOTV efforts to mobilize democratic base in support of Senator Barack Obama for president, Katrina Foley for City Council and Mayor Debbie Cook for the 46th Congressional District.
WHO: Nearly 100 Union Members in Orange County, alongside Patrick D. Kelly, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local Union 952, Tefere Gabre, Executive Director, Orange County Labor Federation, Councilmember Katrina Foley, and 46th Congressional District Candidate, Mayor Debbie Cook.
WHAT: Union members and democrats mobilized the democratic base in Costa Mesa to ensure a vote for Obama and success in key federal and local races. According to a recent report by the Orange County Clerk there are approximately 500,000 registered Democrats in Orange County, union activists and democrats are mobilizing efforts in Costa Mesa in an effort to win key races on November 4.
