‘BUBBA’ GOLF TOURNEY

The third annual Brian “Bubba” Kapko Memorial Golf Tournament is set for Nov. 3 at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club.

The cost is $150 per golfer, and $600 per foursome. On-site registration takes place at 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and the tournament has a shotgun start at 11 a.m.

The $150 fee is a tax-deductible donation that includes green fees, golf cart, food, shirt/jacket, awards an prizes, plus raffle and silent auctions.

Proceeds from this year’s Bubba Kapko Memorial Golf Tournament will benefit Estancia High athletics and the Orange County Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The money raised will provide funding for future Bubba Kapko Memorial College Scholarships. The Brian Kapko Foundation, which conducts the golf tournament, is trying to raise $10,000 this year.

Kapko, who graduated in 2004 from Estancia, where he played football, died in a car accident in 2005.

He was attending Johnson & Wales University in Colorado at the time of his death.
