Coming home to big cheers

Laguna Beach High School students and alumni celebrated a very special Homecoming Oct. 10. It is the 75th anniversary of the founding of the high school, and alumni were invited to attend and to participate in cheerleading for the football team.

The evening started off with a barbecue, and a halftime show featured current cheerleaders and some from years’ past dancing on the field.

Despite the extra boost, the Breakers had a tough time against Francis Parker, a San Diego team that trounced Laguna 49-7. Laguna scored only one touchdown.

The annual Homecoming dance was attended by 350 students.

High School Principal Don Austin has made fostering school spirit a priority since joining the district last year.
