Jena Curry and Amanda Cheseborough each had 11 digs, while setter Emily Lyon had 28 assists for the Pirates (10-0, 2-0 in conference).

SAN DIEGO — Sophomore Tomislav Colic scored on an assist from senior Tom Culver in the 81st minute to break a 1-1 tie in the Golden State Athletic Conference game Wednesday.

Freshman Jordan Rodino had an unassisted goal to open the scoring for the Lions (3-2, 3-0 in conference).

Sophomore Trevor Herrera had two saves for the winners.

FULLERTON — Sophomore Bryan Beardsley and freshman Antinio Dominguez scored four goals apiece for the Pirates in the Orange Empire Conference road game Wednesday.

Sophomore Josh Marsile had 15 saves for OCC (11-4, 3-0 in conference), ranked No. 7 in the state.

IRVINE — Junior Amanda Phillips headed in a rebound to break a 1-1 tie and propel the winners in the nonconference match Sunday at Anteater Stadium.

Sophomore Tanya Taylor opened the scoring for UCI (7-6), converting a cross from sophomore Alyssa Humphrey in the 12th minute.

Sophomore keeper Erica Quevedo had five saves for the Anteaters.

Pepperdine fell to 4-6-2.

Preview Meet

BAKERSFIELD — Orange Coast College won the men’s and women’s team titles at the event completed Saturday.

Sophomore Crystal Reed finished second in the women’s race, though she matched the time of winner Katie Dunn from Glendale (18 minutes, 9 seconds).

Cassie Mitchell (fourth in 18:28), Andrea Guerra (10th, 19:17), Margaret McDuffie (13th, 19:23) and Alexandra DeAvila (19th, 19:36) also scored for the Pirates, while Joanna Abarca ( 24th, 19:39) allowed OCC to win a tiebreaker with runner-up Southwestern for the team crown.

Leading the OCC men was freshman Russell Westphal (fifth, 20:44), followed by Luis Gallardo (14th, 21:03), Pedro Saucedo (15th, 21:05), Weston Hall (27th, 21:20) and Sergio Olivarrias (31st, 21:25).
