Council hopefuls to take questions at forum tonight

Newport Beach City Council hopefuls Gloria Alkire and Dolores Otting will face off against incumbent Councilmen Steve Rosansky and Keith Curry at a political forum at 7 tonight at City Hall. Mayor Ed Selich, who is unopposed in his reelection bid for the District 5 seat, also will participate in the forum.

Alkire is challenging Rosansky for the District 2 council seat. Otting is running against Curry for the District 7 seat.

Candidates will answer questions off the cuff in the roughly hourlong forum sponsored by the West Newport Beach Association.

The forum will take place in City Council Chambers at Newport Beach City Hall, 3300 Newport Blvd.
